Of which, the ERW steel pipe comes with simple production process but high production efficiency and low cost. Generally, the SSAW steel pipe has higher strength than the ERW steel pipe. It can be a welded steel tube with larger diameter manufactured using the steel billets of less width or a welded steel tube with different diameters manufactured using the steel billets of the same width.

However, the weld length of the SSAW steel pipe is 30-100% longer than that of ERW steel pipe which has the same length with the SSAW pipe. In addition, its production speed is lower.

The welded steel tube has been extensively applied to public waterworks, petrochemical industry, chemical industry, electric power industry, agricultural irrigation and urban construction. Specific applications are as follows.
